Shicheng Island Oysters: A Grand Oyster Feast on the Yellow Sea’s North Shore

2026年11月04日 风物

Southeast of Zhuanghe port, the waters of Shicheng Island are deep and slow, clear and rich in plankton — born to grow shellfish. Farmed on floating rafts, the island’s oysters grow plump and sweet, with a taste of clean seawater. Zhuanghe folk know how to eat them: raw with a squeeze of lemon for the boldest, garlic-butter grilled as the classic night-market dish, or in omelettes and soups. Autumn and winter are the fat season. Fresh or vacuum-packed, these oysters are the Yellow Sea’s love letter to the table.
